MORIKOUGEI, specializing in wood made from paper-thin slices of wood, was founded in 1953 in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, and has been crafting products for about 70 years to date.

We manufacture and sell trays with distinctive designs. These designs are unique in that the color of the wood grain appears differently depending on the angle and direction of light.

This effect is achieved through innovative methods of gluing and trimming the grain.

We employ traditional Bizen pottery techniques, hailing from one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, dating back to the Kamakura period. However, our unique manufacturing method, tailored to modern living, renders the pottery microwavable and ovenproof.

The vessels are meticulously crafted in the image of those used by demons in ancient times.

Commitment to our Products:
Each product is meticulously crafted at a well-established Arita-yaki pottery kiln with a 200-year tradition. Aritayaki pet dishware is renowned for its smooth texture and strength achieved through firing at a high temperature of 1,300 degrees Celsius. Stains on them can be easily removed, ensuring their utility as pet dishware for many years.
