TYPE
[Indigo Dyed]
[A deep and profound indigo color, also known as "Japan blue.
Each piece of natural wood is carefully dyed one by one using the traditional indigo dyeing process called "fermentation dyeing", which uses only natural dyes made from tate indigo.
Wood type
[Oak]
Natural color that is easy to match with various foods.
Hard, heavy and durable wood. A hardwood of the beech family, it is also well-known for its acorns.
The wood is characterized by its grain being mottled, and when the mottling is large and looks like tiger fur, it is called torafu.
Depending on the angle of view, the spots reflect the light and appear to shine, and indigo-dyeing brings out this luster.
ABOUT TSUKI-JIRI WOOD PLATE
[What does tsukijiiri mean?]
Tsuki-ita" is made by carefully selecting wood with beautiful grain and slicing it. The rest of the wood is called "tsukiji-ri".
Hundreds of layers of Tsukiita are delivered with a 10 to 20 mm thick board called a Tsukiji-ri between them, but the Tsukiji-ri is usually left unused.
But this tsukijiri is still carefully selected wood. The "leftover" parts that could not be made into tsukiji-ita are reborn as tsuki-jiri wood plates.
[What kind of plate is it?]
The grain of each piece of wood, even if it is the same species, has its own individuality and differences depending on the environment in which it was grown. The TSUKI-JIRI WOOD PLATE is a plate that allows you to enjoy the grain and expression of the wood, which is the beauty of nature's form only natural materials can produce. TSUKI-JIRI was never intended to be a product in the first place. Therefore, everything is one-of-a-kind. Please feel the warmth of wood from a forest somewhere, delivered in the form of a plate.
[What kind of finish do you use?]
For TSUKI-JIRI WOOD PLATE, we chose [CERAWOOD] as the topcoat because it is important not to spoil the texture of the wood, while at the same time considering its practicality as tableware.
CERAWOOD is a high-performance ceramic paint based on a urethane resin compounded with ultra-fine particles. It is more resistant to heat, dirt, and ultraviolet rays than ordinary urethane paint finishes. Of course, but it also conforms to food hygiene tests.
[How should I use it?]
For example...but I think the square shape will accentuate a dining table lined with round plates.
It can be used with appetizers, obanzai, Japanese sweets, tea utensils, and sake cups.... Please enjoy it as a wooden vessel to add color to your daily dining table.
[We recommend that you use it in combination with Western dishes as well as Japanese dishes. We are sure that your table will be enlivened with hors d'oeuvres, snacks such as cheese and nuts, and lovely sweets.
The design is so simple that you can enjoy styling and arranging it as you like. Try using TSUKI-JIRI WOOD PLATE as you wish.
[For interior decoration]
You can also enjoy it as an interior item to add color to your space by combining it with a vase for a single flower or your favorite accessories.
[How should I care for it?]
TSUKI-JIRI WOOD PLATE can be easily used as tableware for daily use.
