The 12mm square, 15cm long block is just the right size to hold in the hand.
This key holder is made of cherry blossom kabazaiku, a traditional Akita craft, with brass fittings.

　What is different from traditional Kabazaiku is the design that shows the cross section of thinly sliced cherry bark instead of the surface of the bark. The laminated cherry bark, which is made by layering and crimping the bark with glue (a natural adhesive) like a mille-feuille, is made into long, thin blocks of strips, much like the hotel keys used in Europe in the past.

　These small bark blocks have a beautiful marbled pattern of overlapping bright iridescent colors of glue and deep colors of bark, and feature a soft and warm tactile feeling that is only possible with bark, which is different from metal or acrylic.

　Because it is a natural material, there is a possibility that it may warp and deform slightly due to humidity, but we hope that you will enjoy this as part of the material's charm.
