• Waxes Coconut and rapeseed wax -The wax used in nidore candles is 100% vegetable-based, comprising natural and degradable ingredients. Rapeseed originates from Germany, and coconuts are sourced from the Philippines and Indonesia, ensuring sustainable production without deforestation or animal collection.
• Transformation -Coconut and canola are processed into pure oil, treated at low temperatures to create an organic wax free from chemicals, additives, and paraffin, a non-renewable component.

Benefits:
The wax leaves no black stains on glass and produces no toxic substances like toluene (C6H5CH3) and benzene (C6H6). It also lasts about twice as long as paraffin-based candles. With a melting point below 50°C, it's very safe.

• Why not soybeans? Nidore doesn't use soy wax, unlike other small-scale producers. We believe the recent soy boom has made soy cultivation uncontrollable and unsustainable due to resulting deforestation.

Wick and Flavorings:

Wicks:
Nidore uses eco-sustainable wicks made of cotton and hemp threads, eliminating lead commonly used in mass-produced wicks to maintain thread verticality. Hemp strengthens the threads, shortening the process by hand.

Flavors and Fragrances:
We use only phthalate-free, vegan, cruelty-free fragrances developed in England and France. We don't use essential oils as we believe they consume more resources than synthetic fragrances.

What's the difference?
Many mass-produced candles contain synthetic dyes and fragrances containing phthalates. Phthalates, present in PVC plastic softeners, are believed to potentially affect liver, lung, kidney, and reproductive functions. While banned for children's toys, they're permitted in candles.

• Why not glass? Glass is recyclable but decomposes slower than aluminum, emitting more CO2 due to its heavier weight during transportation.

• Zero Waste: No waste is generated. Even seemingly impossible items are repurposed, sometimes transforming unsold wax into nidore's smaller candles.
