"KIKOF" is a product brand launched in 2014 by "Mother Lake Products," an organization formed by artisans around Lake Biwa, and "KIGI," a Tokyo-based company involved in various creative activities.

KIGI engages in diverse creative endeavors in Tokyo, while Mother Lake Products represents a collective of craftsmen around Lake Biwa.

Commitment to Products:

• KIKOF ceramics originate from Shigaraki.
• Shigaraki clay boasts a rough texture, simple warmth, and unique characteristics.
• Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, was situated further south than its current location 2 to 3 million years ago.
• Shigaraki ware is crafted from the clay of that ancient Lake Biwa layer.

This original line features kitchen fabrics, including aprons and placemats.

• To maintain a certain level of quality, we primarily produce in Japan.

"More Trees" is a forest conservation organization led by Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The organization has established "More Trees Forests" in 18 locations in Japan and abroad, conducting conservation activities in collaboration with local communities.

The products of "More Trees" are designed by product designers, architects, and artists active in Japan and abroad.

Wood from the "More Trees Forest" is effectively used as raw materials, and a portion of the sales proceeds is dedicated to forest conservation activities.

We craft products using apple trees, which are rare globally.
We handle everything in-house, from logging to sawing and processing.

Commitment to Products:

• The city of Hirosaki in Aomori Prefecture is the top apple producer in Japan. Despite bringing us bountiful harvests every year, once these apple trees complete their role, most are disposed of, mainly for firewood.
• This is because the material can't be easily repurposed as wood, and there are many challenges in processing.
• However, we take care of the entire process ourselves, from plantation to cutting, sawing, and drying.
• Although we can only use 50% of them, we put considerable effort into utilizing them as a local resource and to showcase the unique texture of apple trees.
