New sensation of "One-tiered stacked food box [IMPRESSION]" by German designer
IMPRESSION" is a series of one-tiered stacked boxes with a distinctive lid with a hole in the middle.
It was designed by Wolf Udo Wagner, a famous German product designer.
There are, of course, good reasons for the hole in the lid.
The first reason is that we want people to feel the beauty of both wood and lacquer at the same time, which is unique to lacquerware. The outside has a clear finish that allows you to enjoy the original texture of the wood, and the red and blue colored lacquer inside peeks out through the holes, creating an "impression" in the design. The lid is slightly indented in the center so that the focus is actually on the color of the lacquer inside.
Secondly, when you serve a dish inside, you can see a glimpse of the dish through the hole, which increases the anticipation of opening the lid. This is a fun idea. Of course, the lid is also functional and easy to open.
◆Middle size in the series
The [INPRESSION] series is available in three sizes, but this M size product is right in the middle of the three, with a diameter of 24 cm and a height of 6.5 cm.
It is an easy-to-use size as a serving dish, so it can be used very conveniently. It can be used not only as a bowl to serve dishes for daily use, but also as a single layer for New Year's, as a tub for chirashizushi, or as a serving bowl for hors d'oeuvres and sweets at parties, etc.
◆Three different colors for the inside
The inside is lacquered in vermilion, blue and yellow, which are rare in lacquer ware. It may be fun to have different colors.
