About traditional culture:

Saaya:
A striped fabric that has been handed down only in a limited area of Syria. Palestine is close to Syria and was connected as the same region before the border was drawn. Therefore, saya was used for men's national dress and sashes, and it was a common and familiar material, still imported directly from Syria to private stores in Palestine.

Olive:
Local olive prunings are used for the buttons. Olives are an indispensable agricultural product in Palestine, and a culture of embroidery and music has been nurtured under the olive trees.

About the creator:
"Aisha Design", is an environmental issues x designer, creating unique products by combining upcycled materials and traditional Palestinian culture. Aisha Design employs women who are in need of income. Aisha Design is also involved in environmental activities such as plastic upcycling classes and tree-planting activities in the local community.

Situation in Palestine:
Palestine is a place with a deep history and warm people. (Diary of my stay in Palestine: https://note.com/kakehashi_pale/m/m70c26db08307) We believe that connecting through fair trade with the people who continue to protect their traditional work and activities even under occupation, and the culture crossing borders will lead to grassroots peace.
