    The grain of the wood can be seen through the lacquered finish, which gives it warmth and softness.

    The new Japanese lacquer coloring, which is a speciality of Isuke, a lacquer merchant since the Edo period, is combined with animal motifs owned by Geisoudo, a woodblock printing company in Kyoto.
