    Matcha is made from tea leaves carefully and organically grown by farmers in Shizuoka, the largest producer in Japan.

    JAS Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha: 100% organic tea leaves from the first tea harvest and JAS organic certification.
    It is characterized by a good balance of two components found in high quality tea leaves: theanine, a flavor component, and catechin, an astringent component, giving it a rich, umami taste.
    What makes ZENJIRO Matcha so special is that it is made from the finest tea leaves carefully selected in Shizuoka, the largest tea producing region in Japan. It grows in healthy organic soil and is rich in theanine, a flavor enhancer.
    Carefully covered with cold gauze before plucking, this product has a beautiful bright green color with chlorophyll.
    Brew 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) of matcha in 200 ml of boiling water and stir well. It is also excellent with milk in lattes and au lait. Also popular as an ingredient in smoothies, cakes, and ice cream. It can also be used to practice the tea ceremony.
    For storage, close the pouch with a zipper and keep in a cool place. The package is made of a Japanese 5-layer pouch bag, which is ideal for preventing oxidation. The package is a convenient stand-up bag.

    Oxidation is a risk for Japanese tea and changes its shelf life. After opening the package, please fold the open portion of the aluminum tea bag to fully air out the tea and then secure it with a rubber or stopper. This will prevent oxidation better than transferring to a can.
